Hi Everyone,

I wanted to thank you again for your incredible spirt at our Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival. I am still smiling at you!!! As you know, Dragonheart purchased this great dock. It serves our team well for practices and for our festival and it is a great addition to Waterfront Park. The cost of the dock was $38,000. Dragonheart put $15,000 down as deposit. The hope was that we could raise the remainder at our Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival. We are not quite there,  in spite of many of you who were kind enough to send in your $10 or more donations. Clearly, the weather (oh that pouring rain!!! did not help us. More importantly, we were determined not to take away from any of the fundraising efforts from our Pledge Partner - The Cancer Patient Support Program's Emergency Fund. 

Our hat fund was very successfully. Our paddlers were so incredibly generous. Our accounting volunteers have been busily counting checks and donations from PayPal for more than two solid weeks. They are not finished yet. It is our hope that we will be able to announce the grand total that we raised for Dragonheart and the Emergency Fund by next week. I know that you are anxiously awaiting the results as I am. We will also list the amounts raised by each team. If any team has not paid their $200 to cover the cost of the hats, please do. If any one else is still riding the dragon and collecting festival donations, please continue to do so. I am sending this out to our Dragonheart team as well as to all of our Festival teams because you are part of our Dragonheart family. Just when we were wondering how we were going to raise the rest of the dock funds, Peter Judge came to our rescue. Peter Judge and the Judge Development Corporation have kindly offered a challenge. They will match up to $7,500.00 of other remaining contributions made for the community dock! 

Wow, we can't thank the Judge Development Corporation enough.  This is the shot in the arm we need. If you can help us raise the $7500, we will have the remaining $15,000 owed on the dock. Please send this to any person who would like to help with the dock. All dock donations are made out to Dragonheart Vermont (write dock donation on the line) and mail to 71 Bear Run Road #14, Richmond, VT  05477. Our top highest donors will have their names on the Dragonheart Dock sign for perpetuity. Please know that we truly appreciate all of your generous support. Thank you!!!!!
