The Dragonheart Vermont Activities Barn at Camp Ta-Kum-Ta Becomes a Reality

When Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, Vermont’s camp for children with cancer, needed an activities building for their new home in South Hero, Dragonheart Vermont pledged to make this happen. We teamed up with the participants of our Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival to raise the needed funds.  After our 2009 event, we learned that the funds raised would not cover the cost of such a special building,  Dragonheart just geared up again to work another year to achieve the camp’s goal. It was with great pride that we gave $215,000 to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta. Ground was broken in March of 2011 on the building and work proceeded at a feverish pace to be ready for camp. As the first campers arrived in July this year, the doors of the Dragonheart Vermont Activities Barn opened to serve as the heart and soul of the camp. What joy!
