The Meter Maids

The Meter Maids have rapidly gained a reputation since their initial meeting in May of 2005. The four ladies stood together in a restaurant hallway and sang a few songs together, a cappella. It was so much fun they decided to sing together every week.

Their joy in singing has taken them all over the North Country and both sides of Lake Champlain. Favorite events include: The Plattsburgh Mayor's Cup, The Westport Heritage Festival, and First Night in Saranac Lake. The vibrant a cappella group recently gave a fundraiser concert for Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake, New York.

As members of the Sweet Adelines International, The Meter Maids are part of a world wide family of 27,000 women of all ages who enjoy singing barbershop harmony. Members of the group include Cherie LaDuke carrying the melody and singing Lead, Terry Powers Phaneuf brings the low down Bass line, Jennifer Scofield sings sky high Tenor, and Carole Harsh fits in the Baritone part where she can.
