The Citizens Bank Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival is all about community. It’s thousands of dedicated Vermonters joining together for an unforgettable day of fitness, fun and fund raising. Our 75 community teams are made up of local businesses, non-profits, service groups, neighbors, and families who know that together we can make a real difference in the lives of children and adults with cancer.
As a breast cancer survivor and supporter team first and foremost, Dragonheart Vermont strives to send out an inspirational message encouraging all cancer survivors to live life to the fullest after a cancer diagnosis. Dragonheart’s 150-member team of breast cancer survivors and supporters paddle together for life-affirming exercise and camaraderie.
Paddling as a team is just part of the story. The core of Dragonheart’s mission is to give back to the community and the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival is the team’s special way to introduce people to the sport of Dragon Boating and help others in our community diagnosed with cancer. This year, our goal is to raise $150,000 for our own team and Vermont’s Camp Ta-Kum-Ta , Vermont’s only camp program for kids with cancer. Join us for lots of fun and the best cause of all…spreading support and joy to our local kids as they fight the toughest battle imaginable.
