Festival Mission
The Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival, presented by Citizens Bank, is all about community. It’s thousands of dedicated Vermonters joining together for an unforgettable day of fitness, fun and fund raising. Our 90 community teams are made up of breast cancer survivors, local businesses, non-profits, service groups, neighbors, and families who know that together we can make a real difference in the lives of children and adults with cancer.
Festival Mission Statement
- Share the exciting sport of dragon boat racing with the Vermont community each summer at the Burlington waterfront
- Enhance the quality of life in Vermont by presenting a fun-filled, hands-on summer festival for all ages, and to make the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival a favorite Burlington summer tradition
- Give back to the community by raising funds for our charity of choice
- Inspire the entire Burlington community to join together and support this charitable event
- Foster fitness, teamwork, and community-giving together in one event
- Recruit 90 teams annually made up of breast cancer survivors, community businesses, service organizations, and civic groups
