Dragon Boating and Breast Cancer
Dragon Boating was first embraced as therapy for breast cancer survivors in Vancouver, Canada in 1996 and today there are breast cancer survivor dragon boat teams all over the world. After a diagnosis of breast cancer, survivors learn how to embrace life again. Dragon boating is a way to reconnect with one’s body while connecting with other survivors. The paddlers must work in perfect unison. Twenty paddles hitting the water and propelling the boat forward is empowering. This synchronicity is inspiring and health-giving in the true spirit of healing.
