Fundraising Tips
Festival Hat Fundraising
Attention Paddlers
This year we need your help to reach our $275,000 fundraising goal to provide support for—Dragonheart Vermont and Survivorship NOW. Dragonheart Vermont is a breast cancer survivor and supporter dragon boat organization that carries on yearlong programs to support and empower breast cancer survivors. We also pride ourselves on the importance of breast cancer awareness and community-giving. We have given back more than $550,000 to the community in the last six years. The focus of this year's fundraising is our Survivorship NOW Initiative. It is offering wellness programs to support, educate, and invigorate cancer survivors in our community.
Help us go over the top! We have festival hats that can serve as the perfect donation helper. Hats will be provided on practice weekend at no additional cost, but don’t wait to get your supporters lined up.
Here's how you can do it!
Go to 10 people you know — family members, friends, and co-workers. Ask them for a donation (Say $10 each and more if you like!). Have them sign your hat. In a snap, you will each have $100 for the cause and a great hat filled with signatures of your supporters to wear on Race Day. You will be backed by hundreds of supporters!
Please use our pledge form to keep track of your donations and make sure your supporters get an acknowledgement. Make particular note of any supporter donating more then $75.00 as we will want to make sure they get a special acknowledgement.
How to Register Hat Donations
If you have used the pledge form, gather your donations and the form and turn it in on either practice weekend or festival day. Please make sure that checks have your team name and your name in the memo section. Place all together in an envelope, together with a typewritten list of all donors who would like an acknowledgement, and put your team name and your name on the outside of the envelope.
To save yourself some time, encourage your supporters to go online and enter their donations using their credit card. They can choose both your team and your name while donating so that you get the credit for your efforts.
Check out how your team is doing. Last year’s top fundraising team, raised close to $7000. Who can reach $8000?
We truly appreciate your generosity and help. We will continue to accept donations after the festival so please spread the word. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
